That old man, he ain't goin away, he's still got a few things left to say
Got books to read, plenty o’ songs to hear. Catch some fish, have a few more sips of beer

Now, that old lady, she plans to stay. No good reason for her to say goodbye
Got things to do, and places to go, she’ll be sure to tell you when it’s time to die

These old folks are here today. They prefer to defer judgement day
Living life like it will not last, you can treat em’ nice or u can kiss their ass

They put their hearts into their families. Lifetimes as loving moms and dads
Fought battles, and toiled in their jobs, seen their share of joy, and plenty of sad

Yeah, old folk’s stories, they do age. While their bodies slowdown their pace
Their experiences are wrapped in “sage”, hiding a life of struggles and pain with grace

Can’t imagine what they’ve experienced. They've done things that’ll blow the mind
Their lives, like lightning in a bottle, be surprised at the treasures you can find
